Filey is a lovely, traditional seaside resort with local shops and restaurants and a museum with displays showing the history and development of Filey.

Along the promenade there is a children’s paddling pool, crazy golf course and fairground. Cafes, ice cream parlours and fish and chips shops are nestled in and amongst the activities overlooking the beach. Amusement arcades are situated on the Coble Landing down by the lifeboat station

With its fabulous award-winning beach Filey is perfect for families, the beach is so big it’s never crowded. Ideal for Kite flying, building sandcastles, chilling in a deckchair or maybe bird watching. In early spring you may be lucky enough to see a seal sunbathing on the beach and in the summer the sight of porpoises are regular.

Filey Brigg at the end of the beach is a great place to explore with plenty of rock pools to investigate sporting fish, crabs, hermit crabs and shrimps.

For serious walkers, Filey is at one end of the Cleveland Way which takes in Scarborough and Saltburn-by-the-sea, before crossing the North York Moors to Helmsley.

In Glen Gardens just a short walk from the town centre is a great play area and park, with picnic tables, pedalos, mini crazy golf, trampolines, cafe and a pitch and putt green.  Filey Pitch and Putt is situated on West Avenue and the course offers breath-taking cliff top views over Filey bay alongside peace and quiet.

Filey Bird, Garden and Animal Park is just on the edge of Filey situated over 5 acres of land and is a special mixture of animals, nature, exotic birds and gardens.

If you visit the Stained Glass Centre you can learn about the history of Stained Glass, and browse in the showrooms, full of stained glass panels, lampshades, mirrors and gifts. You could even join in one of the Glass Craft classes.

For the loving Whiskey drinkers amongst us The Spirit of Yorkshire  is Yorkshire's first ever single malt whisky distillery. Situated in the village of Hunmanby, near Filey Bay tours are run three times a day (twice on Sundays). Overlooking the stills at the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, there is a coffee shop serving breakfast, lunch, cakes and Afternoon tea.
